what I'm packing for a beach vacation!

my winter skin favorites!

I really struggle with my skin in the winter. It always seems to be so dry and grumpy and this winter is no exception. In general I struggle with dryness on my forehead, temples and cheeks near my ears while still also struggling with some extra oils in my t-zone where I'm more prone to breakout. So I try to keep from layering on too many super thick creams because I can still get some congestion around my chin and cheeks near my nose. It's a delicate balance.

Today I am chatting all about the products I love for winter skin - in general these are products I use all year round but really lean heavily on for the cold months. If you want to take a peek at my everyday morning and evening skincare routine you can find that here. I hope some of these suggestions are helpful to you...

goop microdermabrasion scrub - I usually do 'treatments' like this at night, but I recently saw an instagram post recommending to use this in the morning. It's a game changer! This scrub is definitely on the pricey side but I can't recommend it enough - it's truly incredible. I work this in to my skin 2-3x a week in the morning. I find it removes dead skin cells from dryness and helps my skin absorb product better after use which really helps improve dry areas.

face oil - I've long been a face oil lover! A little goes a really long way and I usually only use one or two drops of this at a time. Sometimes I layer it under foundation, one or two drops, or if I am going makeup free I will do three drops. Another way I love to use it is mid-day if my skin is feeling super dry I will just take one drop and press between my fingers and then spot treat only the super dry spots (for me that is my forehead, temples and outer cheeks) to add a little glow and to make sure my skin doesn't feel tight in those areas.

eye cream - Eye cream is a must all year long, but I go a little heavier with it in the winter when the delicate skin by my eyes has a greater chance of drying out and dry skin makes wrinkles seem more pronounced (for me at least!).

overnight peel - Because I still get clogged pores and breakouts this time of year (especially in my t-zone) I still use my Overnight Peel religiously. It exfoliates and helps fight both acne and aging without drying out my skin. My skin instantly feels soft after using and I can tell the long term benefits over time of less breakouts. This is my holy grail of skincare.

cleansing balm - Cleansing balm is great at removing impurities and even makeup from the skin as a cleanser and makes for a great double cleanse product (wash your face with a foaming cleanser, then go back and wash it again with the balm - it's heaven!). But I also like to use this as a mask too. I wash my face and then massage the balm into the skin thoroughly and leave it on for 5-15 minutes. It soaks in so well and leaves your skin incredibly hydrated after rinsing it off (I like to use a warm wash cloth to rinse it off).

foaming face cleanser - If your skin feels super tight and dry after washing it I highly recommend you try this face wash. My skin feels CLEAN but not tight or super dry. It's so gentle but also so effective.

daily body lotion - This body lotion is the best. Super thick and not heavily scented, it's incredible for dry winter skin all over your body.

supreme cream - If you are experiencing a lot of dryness or just love to slather on the night cream this time of year (I feel ya, I have those days too!) this night cream is NEXT LEVEL. Compared to La Mer for a fraction of the price this overnight cream is the best of the best. Just a tiny bit goes a long way and you will love how it makes your skin feel.

lip jellies - my lips seem to be chapped about 23 out of the 24 hours, anyone else? These jellies are are super soft and hydrating and not sticky with a tiny, tiny hint of color and amazing scents. They are stashed all over my house (desk, bathroom, side table in my bedroom, my purse, my car) and I am obsessed!

coconut bath soak - I LOVE a bath in the winter. But it can dry my skin out some... but this bath soak makes your skin SO soft!
